About High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is a form of exercise characterized by short bursts of exercise followed by short periods of rest. Programs often use intervals of 30-60 seconds of exercise with similarly brief rest intervals. HIIT training is a great way to build strength and cardiovascular fitness regardless of your current fitness. Classes usually utilize minimal or no equipment, making this form of exercise very accessible. Sometimes rest intervals utilize “active rest” which involves movement at a relatively lower intensity.

This group offers a great diversity of HIIT classes with various demonstrators. This is a follow-along program so there is no verbal instruction. Exercises are explained with a brief written description during rest intervals but you will mainly learn by doing. They publish many free classes on their website and YouTube, but also offer access to their full exercise library for $7.99/month.
POPSUGAR Fitness
POPSUGAR publishes tons of very high-energy content on YouTube, their website & mobile application. Their classes are instructed by a range of fitness experts and celebrity trainers which may keep you engaged. They produce a diversity of content including HIIT, cardio, strength, yoga, barre, and dance (hip hop, Latin, Zumba, etc.) classes. Access to their website and mobile application is currently free. Within their HIIT classes, they demonstrate modifications for lower-impact versions or advanced versions of each exercise.
